UK construction 2.6% higher on year

14 Aug 2015

UK construction output rose by 0.9% in June compared to May, though analysts expected an increase of around 2%

However, the figures (released today by the Office for National Statistics) show that construction output is 2.6% higher on a month-on-month basis compared to one year ago, or 2.4% on a quarterly basis compared to the same quarter last year

The rise was caused primarily by output increases in private new housing (3.9%), infrastructure (0.5%) and other public new work (1.2%)
