More jobs expected to be created in UK in 2015

06 Feb 2015

More than half of UK companies expect to hire more staff in 2015, with the majority of roles being permanent, not temporary - according to the CBI/Accenture Employment Trends Survey

Firms are also looking to increase their intake of apprentices and graduates

43% of employers expect to award pay rises in line with the Retail Price Index (RPI), with 12% expecting awards above the RPI - versus 7% in this latest category last year

The survey also found that employers think the greatest threats to UK competitiveness are low skill levels (63%) and the burden of employment regulation (61%) - and that respondents (54%) think this will still be the case in five years' time
